I am both excited and glad to accept this Liebster award given by Mei and Jonine. This kind of tags/awards are going on around the blogosphere for quite a while now but this is the first after the longest time that I received and participated in such activity. Please receive my virtual hug you two! Thank you so much!
The Liebster Award 2016
The Liebster Award 2016 is an award that exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers. The earliest case of the award goes as far back as 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome.
Mei of Jojomei.com is a Software Development Analyst from the Philippines. She’s been around the blogosphere since 2007 which made us more like blogger batchmates, actually. Her blog talks about her life, thoughts, travels and random experiences. I personally enjoy reading her travel stories! Plus, I love how authentic and personal her blog posts are. Thanks for nominating me, Mei!
Jonine of joninegarcia.com is a 22-year-old blogger from the Philippines. Her blogging journey started in tumblr back in 2012. She loves collecting books and journals. I like how open she can be about herself especially when she posted something about how she’s overcoming anxiety. You can learn a lot from this young woman. And mind you, she’s really pretty! Thank you so much Jonine for nominating me!

1. If given a chance to change your name, would you? And what would be your new name?
When I was a kid, I wanted the name, Pauline. I’m not entirely sure why but my young-self wanted the name so who am I to question. haha! But if I were to decide now, I wouldn’t change my name and will stick to what I have. Dianne Karol sounds nice anyway, at least for me.
2. What is your greatest achievement so far?
Being able to help my parents pay my college expenses through my hard earned money. Graduated year 2014, btw.
3. Can you describe the most difficult situation you were in?
I have something on top of my head right now but I can’t disclose it because of affected parties and confidentiality. Sorry!
4. How do you see yourself 5 years from now?
Started building my own home with fancy furnishings, those I can only see on magazines. Goes here and there both locally and internationally, is financially stable with lots of investments, has a higher position in a good company that pays well, mans a business while continues to blog on the side. In short, a WONDER WOMAN!
5. What’s your point of view on sex and marriage?
With all honestly, these things still terrify me. A lifetime of commitment isn’t a joke and you have to be really sure before deciding about anything for this matter. That’s why I try my hardest to support myself in whatever aspect so I can stand independently with or without a lifetime partner. Don’t worry, I still believe in happy endings, but it’s better safe than sorry.
6. What do you do for a living?
I am working in a globally known technology company as an IT Specialist.
7. What are 3 things you love and hate the most about yourself?
Loves: For not being overly emotional and dramatic, for being economical and for being forgiving.
Hates: For being timid when I needed not to be, for having dermatographia and for being bad with numbers
8. What’s your favorite recipe?
Hard question because I don’t regularly cook. But I love ginataang kalabasa with shrimp, I don’t know how to cook it though. huhu!
9. What’s your dream job?
Any decent job that pays well! It’s a plus if I can do it remotely because Manila traffic is horrible! Seriously, I don’t have one particular dream job my whole life. I’m happy with my work now, I learned to love what I do, and for some reasons, I like that I don’t have any dream job in mind growing up because it avoids disappointments and welcomes discoveries.
10. When was the last time you laughed so hard?
Yesterday. Not sure of the reason why, but I know I laughed hard yesterday. Okay, just believe me. haha!
11. Do you have a bucket list? What are 3 things you haven’t accomplished yet?
Travel outside the country, learn to swim and finish a full marathon. I know I have a long bucket list but these are the things on top of my head now.

1. When and how did you start blogging?
If I remembered it correctly, that was around May 2008. I was an active friendster user way back and I enjoyed creating friendster layouts. I joined a lot of friendster related forums where a lot of resources are available and there I met few friends who blog. There were a lot of blogging platforms then like livejournal, xanga, friendster blog, blogspot, etc. But I got into it when my sister told me that we can actually own a blog by applying for a subdomain which for me sounded fancier than registering for aforementioned platforms. My first blog was a subdomain under Anne’s blog that was written in taglish and a lot of posts there were password protected! Talk about having a too personal blog.
2. What are your blogging habits?
I don’t have a habit in general. In fact, I don’t post that often. But when I do, I try to think of a good topic beforehand and then choose good photos. I don’t edit a lot, I don’t even put texts on my photos. I just enhance the brightness and saturation and I’m done. I always upload the photos first before I write because I’m more of a visual person, the more I see, the more I can put words to it.
3. What/Who inspire you to blog?
My urge to one day read what I’ve written here is what keeps me inspired to blog. I enjoyed reading my own blog posts even if I’m not fully confident about it. It’s just nice to document my stories and be able to read my own thoughts whenever I want to walk down my memory lane.
4. What are the three lessons you learned from being a blogger?
Consistency is important, online friends can be real and don’t be afraid to speak out.
5. What are your fears? And how do you overcome them?
Expectations, or maybe failures that come along expectations. I don’t think I have overcome it yet. Don’t worry, I will.
6. What’s the one thing that people always misunderstand about you?
That I’m aggressive? Maybe because I have a strong voice. It’s really hard to lower a really bold voice, I tell you.
7. What are your current favorite movies?
Men of Honor, 50 first dates, Lion King (oooopps!), and Harry Potter.
8. What is your favorite book?
My two current favorite books are Slammed by Colleen Hoover and Bright Side by Kim Holden. The books that I read are mostly YA, so yep.
9. What is your favorite bible verse?
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
10. What are the things you’re looking forward to?
I’m looking forward to a great news this November (or December). This can be a really happy or a really sad news, both are extremes! I’m also looking forward to all my travels next year, I just hope my allotted budget would fit in. haha!
11. Describe yourself in three words.
Low-maintenance, morena and original. HAHA!
